Jessica! Shuggie and Lessons!

Hello!

I had a great day with my best friend Jessica. I was bummed that my parents and Jesse were leaving for their road trip to Texas. I wasn’t bummed about the drive but it will be my first Christmas away from the family. But when I saw Jessica get off the plane my spirits lifted because she’s just like a sister to me.

We shopped at Walmart. I got a new vacuum hooray!

We climbed Arabia Mountain with Ashley before I had to drive her back to the airport.

Cool shadows!

Aurora our guide dog.

On the way down the mountain I mentioned that I needed some wrapping paper. Can you believe Jessica spotted some on the side of the road on the way home! Some of it was brand new!

Booked horse riding lessons with Ms. Marlene today! I’m really looking forward to that. I got my helmet in today!

Then climbed Stone Mountain.

I put my car clicker in my pocket but when I ran down I noticed it was gone! Oh no! I didn’t have a hide a key so I thought about trying to break in but then I decided to go back up the mountain in search of my car opener. About half way up I saw if there in the middle of the gravel trail. Woo Hooray!

Checked on the Pitty Pat house. Sweet lil Shuggie was there to greet me.

Miles did some Christmas shopping for me and then we ate at the Cheesecake Factory. Now he’s upstairs in the turret trying to wrap the gifts in secret.

Miles and I had a terrific Saturday. It started with lunch at Farmburger.

Then I watched What’s Eating Gilbert Grape? as Milo worked on his biology report about alligator adaptations.

I also created out Meet the Need website. It’s supposed to help generate volunteers for Whirlwind.

For dinner we went out for sushi. Miles and I just finished watching Andrew Zimmern in the UK so we opted for the French Connection snail with garlic butter sushi.

Emory Neuroscience lecture and Steaks with Miles

Jesse and I enjoyed listening to the Neurology Lecture at Emory today. It was mostly about how the scientist have found a way to bind certain proteins together to help treat muscular atrophy and autism. Emory is actually conducting human clinical trials with success!

It was a beautiful campus.

Then we ate a Thai salad pizza at Everybody’s.

With more discussion traveling in the car we went to the farmer’s market to get steaks and seasoning.

Azalea and Christmas Cards

Hello!

Emailed youth directors from 2012 inviting them to come on missions again in 2013.

Called the Georgia Baptist Association to inquire about advertising in the Christian Index.

Called and talked to Mitchell Wooten. He’s bring a team in February.

I got a sweet card in the mail from The Church at Westerly in Rhode Island. I decided to give them a call thanking them. I talked to Valerie, the pastor’s wife and she was SO nice. She was very excited to tell the ladies group that a missionary had called and that their card had made a difference. Then she prayed for me, almost making me cry.

Worked with the kids at the mission. They did not want their pictures taken.

Home now for pizza with Miles. Looking forward to the Neuroscience lecture at Emory tomorrow with Jesse.
