Ashley wants to make YOU part of what's happening in Atlanta!
I am your youngest North American Board Missionary. I am a full time student at Georgia Perimeter College majoring in Media Journalism. My passion is working with people and that’s exactly what I do at Kensington Station Apartments where I serve as the After School Director.
Miles and I ate some delicious ribs from Spiced Right. That’s some serious barbecue.
He dropped me off and I went to my Collegian meeting with Mr. David. Zoe was supposed to meet us but had to rush to the hospital because of serious back pain. Please be praying for her.
Mr. David and I talked about where the paper was headed for the Orientation issue. This is going to be an awesome issue. Very arty.
Hilary and I began working on designing the campus maps. Looking forward to cranking out the paper.
Got a call from GPC today. I won the Ann M. Knight Memorial Scholarship! I wrote an essay, the supporters really liked it and picked me. This money will help me buy my textbooks.

The kids only have 2 more days of school so I thought they’d enjoy a begining of summer cookout.Dad and I went to Kroger to pick up the supplies.
The bus rolled up and the kids came running up the hill so excited to see me, the grill master, cooking them something bigger than a snack.
They ate it all up.
Then the girls did a stomp dance.
Went to hang out with Heather and Alyssa at Nacho Daddy’s.

Like see food?
Miles and I ate at our favorite garden market, Always Fresh. They have the best squash and brochlie soup.
Looked at hiking gear for our Costa Rica trip in July.
Surprised the kids with Popsicles today at Kensington. They only have 3 days left until summer break. Please pray that God will grant me a creative idea for the summer backyard Bible club. I’m thinking about planting a garden and growing in God’s love.
None of the kids had homework. The girls and I sat on a blanket while Alexia practiced reading. Jocelyn did my hair and listened while the boys played football.
I’m listening to Lexi read and I hear Mrs. Opal blow her whistle. I had to jump up quick and break up a few fight between Nick and Malik. Instead of fighting I encouraged each of them to scream as loud as they could to get their anger out. Then we did push ups. This seemed to help ease tensions.
The girls had a great time painting their nails on the picnic table with Mrs. Opal. She taught them a magic trick with disappearing nail polish. Click here to watch the movie.
And as always she brought a healthy snack for the hungry kids.
Worked on laying out the Orientation newspaper issue. Designing and writing is the fun part.

The whole family went to Madina today to meet with some new missionary partners.
Chop Chop chicken, goat meat and Tibis beef are always good.
I scratched my eye somehow and it got really red that I couldn’t open it. Mo took me to Walgreen’s to get some eye drops. I was in pain so she went to Kensington for me. I just got up from resting and feel a lot better now.
Anna and I walked 3 miles around Stone Mountian.
Went shopping for sunglasses. Need to protect your eyes.
Went to Movie Tavern and watched Iron Man 2.

There was a opposum at Kensington today.
We didn’t have snacks today and the kids would ask, “What do you have for snack?”
“Just Jesus to fill you up.” I told Dajuan, Kayla and Samara.
“What?”
“Yeah, Jesus loves you so much his love will fill you up.”
“Does Jesus love bad people too? Dajuan asked.
“Yes He does.” I went on and told them the story about the garden of Eden and the evil snake.
Climbed the mountian with Justin and Anna.

Mrs. Ziegler comes in the classroom shaking her head.
“Did you finish grading the take home tests?” Lydia asks from the second row.
A pained expression forms on Mrs. Ziegler’s face as she sucks air violently in through her teeth.
“The take home test, don’t ask me about those. The highest grade was an 85.We’ll discuss it later.”
Turns out people did pretty poorly on the 7 question exam.I was anxious to see the grades. At the end of class she passes them back. I flip up the cover page, “An 84! Sweet!”
Flipped through the pages of Vanity Fair and read a great article about Grace Kelly. Beautiful lady.
Finished up Buddism today. We talked about “anatman” or the “no-self.” The way I’ve come to understand it is that there is no distinction between your pain and my pain it’s all our pain.
Ate a speedy with Miles at El T before Mo and I headed for Kensington.
Maintance was draining the pool, which created a huge water slide for the kids to play in. They were having so much fun playing football in the water. Later we collected in the tennis courts for a game of giant soccer.
When we got tired we all sat down in a circle and played the name game. First say your name, spell it with claps and then say the name of an animal that begins with the first letter of your name.
“I’m Ashley, A_S_H_L_E_Y, the Anteater!”
“I’m Hanezor, the horse!”
“I’m Zeirious, the zebra!” his twin brother shouts.
Little Tatiana is up next,” I’m Tatyana, T_A_T_Y_A_N, uhh A, the turtle!
After the name game I asked if anyone had any prayer requests.
“I’m just glad the wearthers nice!” Hanezor yells.
We laugh and pray together thanking him for the sunshine.
Happy Birthday, Mama! We love you!
