Finished the presentations last night.
What a wonderful time we had teaching the Virginia Tech team about Islam, Hinduism and Catholicism. But it’s all about actually visiting the markets and making friends with people of different religions.
Powerful pray time. We explored Plaza Fiesta and meet up with Jimmy Kim and his team, Devon and Victoria. Really looking forward to helping mobilize their team into the community.
Al Madina was great. Got to see Rasha, my friend from Egypt.
Kitob, a Muslim bookstore across the street was very informative. Did you know that Jonah is called Yunus in the Quran? We’re all about building bridges.
Good to see Tek at Global Mall.
Best part is always missions. I had fun playing tag with some of the second graders. Then we all made salvation bracelets.
Jesse taught me how to shift into first and second gear. It’s my first time to drive a manual.

Had a GREAT time with the VT team. We had our briefing and then headed to the Farmer’s Market.
Then onto Asian Square.
Everyone helped us clean and organize the mission.
Then homework help, crafts and the Bible story!

Had a great vegetarian lunch with Shawn and Michael from 12Stone at Al Madina. Always fun to see our Ethiopian friends there.
Then onto the Farmer’s Market with Amanda and her sweet mom and Dad.
We also showed them around CD Tower and Asian Square.

Off to the mission! It’s fun to see kids reading my book.
Office work now and got some tofu to cook for dinner.

What an awesome day with the Self Family and friends!
We enjoyed touring around and practicing Spanish with locals at the Farmer’s Market.
One of my friends, Keri, came shopped around.
My favorite purchase for the day was the fancy eggplant!
Keri and I baked eggplants for dinner with mozzarella and chopped tomatoes. YUM!

Enjoyed visiting baby Daniel Jesus. He’s a month old today.
Had a fun morning with Mo and Adita!
Adita invited us to her house. She showed us how to make fried plantains the Guatemalan way with black refried beans and sour cream. YUM!
Had lunch with Pastor Paul Millarc of Briarcliff BC. Looking forward to a great block party with them soon.
Deposited support at the bank.
Our Comfort Inn has changed ownership and is now Clarion. They’ve raised their prices so we’ve been going around to other hotels searching for better deals for our teams.
On to the mission. Today was the kid’s first day back.
Talked to Linda Bright of Heritage BC. Looking forward to bringing their team on missions.
Left a message with Stephen Peeples about their team coming Jan. 31st for the block party.
Home now working on stuffing envelopes, organizing the financial report and printing out insurance ID cards.

First day back to work after our family road trip to Texas for Christmas.
Wrote letters to potential teams.
Called Dave Wiley at Mountain Park FBC to set up his DNow weekend with Whirlwind.
Sent out emails to confirm lunch with different church leaders.
Updated the TeamWhirlwind.com site.
Created this for my friend who lives in Kansas.
Then popped it in the mail.
Went by Office Depot to get binders.
Had a fun New Years party with the missions kids.
We had a great group of women from S.O.A.R ministry. A big THANK YOU to them!
Got the hard copy of my book!!
Working on banking next for Whirlwind.

Early dentist appointment this morning. Got two fillings. This dentist is great! I was in and out in seventeen minutes.
Wrote my newsletter and updated flyers.
Picked up calendars and started laminating them.

Then onto Westside BC. GREAT to see Pastor Ben there.
Lunch before visiting 12Stone. Had a great talk with them. Cut a date to take them around the Village.

Had a great spin class with Ash tonight. We rode 18 miles!

Decorated the house for Christmas! Today is also Miles and I’s 3rd anniversary. He brought me home some beautiful roses and cupcakes.

Had fun with Adita today at ESL class. I got to meet her husband, Welmer, today. He enjoyed translating common phrases he’s heard at work like, “check it out!”

Ate lunch and took Jesse to see the Oculus Rift.
Visited Roswell United Methodist Church.
Stopped by NAMB to see friends but it was too late.
Picked up some dog food for Moogie and then onto the mission!

Dad and I had an enjoyable lunch at the mall. We got to try the new Oculus Rift. I felt like I was swimming in the ocean with a big whale.
Meet with Jeff Reams at Dunwoody BC, then over to see friends at Peachtree Corners BC.
Talked with John Sayger in Mississippi about starting work there and then to Loren Hildabrandt about starting work in Gainesville.
Got stamps and envelopes.
Then the kids helped us stuff the newsletters.
Home now to cook dinner and create Adita’s first English test.

Had a great class with Adita today. I created a study guide, we’ll have our first test Dec. 2nd. It’s amazing how much we’ve learned so far. She’s enjoyed working on the computer and learning how to type.
Had a good time with Jesse at lunch and then we created the Donation button at Whirlwind Missions. Now supporters can set up EFTs and reoccurring donations.

Hello!
Had a great English Class today at the Mission. I always enjoy putting the lessons together. Today we learned some Thanksgiving vocabulary and prated more greetings.
I learned that Adita would love to go sky diving and really enjoys roller coasters.
Ate lunch with my parents. I’ve been feeling a bit sick so Dad took me to get some Vitamin C and Lysol.
Updated the Team Whirlwind Site with Rehobeth’s new information.
Got my emissions done and bought my tag.
Updated Marcus’ site some more.
Going to work on some finances for Whirlwind and then rest.

Dad and I met with Trent from Rehobeth BC to discuss lodging teams there.
They’re doing great followup work! Great to be partners with them.
Stopped by Stone Mountain Church of Christ and talked to them about lodging. They’re still in the process of setting up a key person.
Got my new iPhone! Great to have the big screen when showing the kids online research.
Over to Briarlake UMC to talk about lodging. The more places we can host teams the more people we can bring in to witness to people of the International Village!

Mo and I had fun with Katie and the rest of the family as we celebrated her new baby girl! She’s due this December.

Hello!
Adita and I worked for three hours today, her on English and me on Spanish. I helped her get a Skype account going. She was so thrilled to be able to talk with her sister back home in Guatemala.
We sat on the floor with her sweet daughter, Camilla, for a while and talked about my parents being missionaries in Africa.
Home to work on the financial report and then to the bank.
Did some website work.
Missions with the kids. We did some research on the Boston Tea Party and the Israeli Palestine conflict.

Enjoyed speaking at Unity Baptist Church yesterday morning in Bonaire, GA. Hopefully they’ll bring a team to come and serve with us.
