Humble FBC and FBC Pelham to BHFM and Missions!

Hello!

Dad and I meet with the Mobilizing Students team last night to go over where their teams will be this week.

Then we drove around to each location to scout out where to set up.

This morning I woke up and printed out maps when I suddenly realized that I’d doubled up on one locations and that one of the teams was bringing a bus when I thought it was a team of vans. I freaked out, called Dad and he wasn’t worried. We got it all squared away and he said he’s glad that with 222 people in town serving at 40 locations, to only have one mistake isn’t bad.

FBC Pelham bought Yeah, Baby tshirts!

Did the briefing with the teams.

Then explored the farmer’s market.

On to missions!

This was my view most of the day helping the Charter bus get on site.

More missions!

Then a concert at Huntington Creek.

Great day overall and looking forward to the best day EVER tomorrow.

Temple Baptist Church to CD Tower and Plaza Fiesta

Hello!

Dad and I had fun briefing the team today. We taught them about Buddhism and Catholisism.

The best part was when Dad came out with his new wrestling mask on. He scared one girl, I almost died laughing.

Fun time at CD Tower, Dad got a new gong. And some of the best coconut buns at Hong Kong Bakery.

Hehe.

Plaza Fiestas always a treat.

I want to believe.

Today’s their last day at the mission. They’ve been an awesome team!

Temple BC to Global Mall and Madina

Hello there!

Guess what I found in my hanging basket this morning?

I can’t wait until they hatch!

Dad and I briefed the team on Islam and Hinduism.

Then we took them over to Global Mall to the Shiv Mandir Temple.

In Hinduism the swastika stands for the four stages of life. When your an infant, adolescent to middle age and old age. They believe that when the youth groups come to learn about different religious cultures they are old souls that have been reincarnated because it’s not until people grow older that they need to learn about God.

Next we visited Madina and enjoyed a lunch of schwarmas and samosas.

Did some recon on the tables and chairs at FBCD. We have a team of 172 eating there next week.

On to the missions! This team is super prayed up because as soon as they packed up and headed home it started a torrential down pour.

Dad and I hosted Temple BC from Moultrie, GA today.

Took them over to the Farmer’s market.

Then to the missions. This is their third time to come on missions with us so they knew lots of the kids.

Told the manager at Alderwood Trails that we’ve got a team coming!

Dad and I worked on logistics for the teams coming next week. We drove the bus route and decided where the teams should go first. Dad said it right when he said it was like a puzzle.

Hello there!

Went horse riding early this morning. Summer was quiet the naughty pony today. She wouldn’t listen to anything I asked her to do. She even bucked a few times. But it was some of the most fun I’ve had.

Spent about an hour working out the schedule for the big group of teams coming next week.

Finished the financial report and drove it over to Jon Paul’s.

Talked to Becky Humphrey about brining her team and how to prepare.

Went to PureFUN! to pick up the Yeah, Baby T-shirts.

FBC Livingston, TN Trip!

Hello my wonderful friends!

Milo and I drove to Tennessee this weekend for a missions trip in Livingston. It turned out so much better than we had anticipated.

Kristen and Corey were both our age so it was fun to hang out with them and their little ones.

On Saturday night I spoke with the ladies group for about an hour. Then we had steak dinners back at Kristen’s. Milo really enjoyed cooking out with Corey. They own a huge cabin on about 36 acres I think. Really different from our way of life in Decatur.

Corey drove us over to his parents where we spent the night in our own private room near the sauna. Yeah, they spoiled us.

On Sunday morning we had coffee and watermelon before meeting the members at the church breakfast. They served this stuff called chocolate gravy over biscuits. I can’t believe I’ve never heard of this!

We went to Sunday school then I spoke in the main service. For lunch we ate with the pastor and his wife before heading home.

After four hours of driving, we’re finally back. I went for a run, did the laundry and wrote my newsletter.

Miles and Jesse are out swimming so I’m going to do girly things like paint my nails.

Looking forward to the Agricola team tomorrow. Summer’s here, baby!

Ash

Driving to Livingston, TN for Missions Conference

Hello! This whole time I’ve been thinking my missions conference this week is in Kentucky. I’ve been dreading the idea of a seven hour drive. Turns out I’m going to Livingston, Tennessee not Livingston, Kentucky. Can I get a WOOOHOOO for a 4 hour drive instead?

Worked on creating a banner to welcome the teams. Still not completely satisfied…

Filled in some of the financial report.

Finished the little labels,too.

Working on the Yeah,Baby! t-shirt project too. Coming along well, first times always the hardest.

Cleaned the house and went for a run. Miles came home and we left for our trip. We’re here in Tennessee now.

Just finished watching REC Genesis 3. If you like zombie movies, it’s a good one.

Sweet Mo’s Birthday! Marietta and work with Dad!

Hello!

A BIG happy birthday to my sweet Mama! I ran over to CIBC to see her this morning. I didn’t have a birthday cake so I gave her a birthday BBQ sandwich.

Wrote some letters of thanks to the Tennessee peeps.

Hung out with Dad today. We went up to Marietta for lunch with Trey Sapp and his team from Eastside BC.

Then we walked around old Marietta square. I like it, it reminds me of Georgetown in Texas.

Tried this new Dasani water with drops. Surprisingly good!

Dad and I both got new flip flops! He also bought me some Hibiscus flowers and a palm for my deck. I’m transforming it into my own little garden of Eden.

Labels with the chillins.
