A Day with the Horses

I shipped my textbooks back to Amazon for free today with the Trade In Program.

Wrote thank you notes for supporters of my family’s ministry on Nepalese paper grown in the Himilyas.Want to get one? Send your address to ashleycummins@gmail.com.

I love coming out to the farm on sunny summer days.

Milo and I went to hang out and take pictures of, Punkin’, the new horse.

Shelby says, “Haaayyy…”

I rode King out in the corral near the pasture.

While Miles took pictures of the dog.

Take a look at the new brookwoodranch.com website.

Day with the Virginia Tech Team

Hello!

What a fun day with Dad and J. We started out giving a briefing to the VA Tech team at FBC Doraville. Then we headed over to the International Farmer’s Market.

They have some WEIRD things there…

… and yummy.

Then we ate the best steak quesadillas in town at Carnicaria Numero Uno.

Off to the service projects. At Azalea we organized the closets and prepared the mission for it’s paint job tomorrow.

Had fun with the kids.

Isn’t Pam’s bunny, Robby, cute? He looks a little scared, though.

This is how Brianna feels about getting out of school for the summer.

FootHills Community Church Block Party, Lynsie’s 22 Birthday Party and Anna’s Fiesta

Wow! This was a day full of parties!

Earlier this morning I did a briefing with the Foothills Community Church  team and then we all rode over to Huntington Terraces.

What a great turnout!

Later I went to celebrate Lynsie’s 22 birthday at her house.

That evening Anna threw a Mexican themed dinner party. Muy sabroso!

Looking forward to speaking at Rockbridge Baptist Church tomorrow.

Bloggin’ with Mrs. Zana and Azalea

Hello!

Worked on my World History study guide with some classmates this morning. Tomorrow is my last final and then SUMMER TIME, Baby!

Drove over to Mrs. Zana’s house to teach her how to upload a blog post to her website that I built for her. Check it out! http://www.brookwoodranch.wordpress.com.

I teach her about computers and she teaches me about being a cowgirl.

Had a good time at the mission. Today was a girly girl kind of day. After we worked on homework a couple of the girls gathered around and I painted their nails sparkly pink. Then we did eachother’s hair. It’s all about one-on-one relationships.

Home now to study for my final tomorrow. Be praying for me around 11:30.

Love,

Ash

What Better Than a Tattoo For Mother’s Day?

Mo, J and Dad went to the Ren Fest while I stayed home to enjoy a run around the neighbor hood some Healthy Choice Chinese food…

…and study for my Business and Journalism finals tomorrow.

I treated Jessica to a Mother’s Day out. For her Mother’s day present she got “Kylie” inked on her right shoulder to balance the “Tyler” she got three years ago on his first birthday.

I did my toes while we waited.

Enjoyed sandwiches with Milo’s mo.

The Astronaut

The whole family took Mo to the Planetarium for an early Mother’s Day present.

Eric Boe, a test pilot for NASA, was giving a presentation on the Discovery flight. His crew flew up to the International Space Station to do some installation.

Did you know we can actually see the space station from earth? Click here to see when the space station will be over your city.

I got to touch a moon rock! Dad joked that he’d never wash his hand again.

Sweet ol’ Shuggie dawg.

Home now to work on my last World History discussions.

Biking and the Jamaican Dinner Party

Miles and I biked about 4 miles around the neighborhood.

My legs are going to be sore tomorrow.

I hosted a dinner party at my house for a couple of girlfriends.

The whole party cost under $100!

I catered brown rice with peas, sweet plantains, steamed cabbage, jerk chicken and ginner beers from a local restaurant down the street.

For the decorations I printed out my own Jamaican flags and brought out the pink christmas light and candles to set the mood.

I also went to the local grocery store and bought some flowers on sale.

For the table setting I rolled silverware in white napkins tied up with ribbon.

I got these plates for free at an estates sale because the lady thought they were SO ugly. I think they turned out cute though, don’t you?

To complete the mood I made a reggae playlist with Bob Marley, Pepper and Sublime. And CatchPhrase makes everything fun.

The girls and I had a really nice time enjoying the food, music and atmosphere.

Join us for the next dinner party!

Rachel Comes to Kensington

Studied Earthquakes in Geology lab today.

Mr. Alonzo from Kensington left me a voice mail. When I first got the call I thought, “Uh oh.. they’re going to kick us out.”

But it was great news! They want to partner more with us and do more events. I told them about the Christmas party we’re going to have on Saturday, December 18 from 12-2pm. Please be praying for a great turnout.

Rachel Greene, My friend from First Baptist Duluth, came to help out at Kensington. The kids took to her immediately.

Listen in on their conversation.

Hanezor had fun showing off his silly bands.

Love,

Ashley
