Milo’s first day chopping Bamboo

Well today was Miles’ first day cutting down Bamboo for the Zoo. He really seemed to like it. He said he had a lot in common with the other guys on the team and the work is a great work out and he loves being outdoors.

He left a sweet message on the bathroom mirror.

He came home DIRTY though. I hope we get our washer and dryer soon.

Meanwhile I was critiquing in creative writing class and studying geochronology in geology.

Even after a long day Miles still comes to help out at the mission.

I always like Aylin’s accessories.

I used a Scout Mob deal tonight. Miles got a 100% FREE hotdog at Pete’s Hotdogs and Polar Parlor. As my Daddy would say, “Can’t beat that with a stick.”

Off now to cook some veggies.

El Torero’s and Bass Pro

Hello!

Milo and I woke up at 6 to see how long it would take to get to the Zoo. Only 20 mins.

I like these word photos.

Miles thinks they look scary and I’ll have to agree they do a bit.

After eating breakfast, Miles and I studied together. I read about creative writing and Milo about Zoology.

After a few hours of knowledge gathering we met J and Dad at El T.

Then the three of us checked out knives at Bass Pro shop.

I liked this deer. Ever eaten venison ?

Miles is in the kitchen listening to Chopan as he cooks Chicken halves with apple cider and bacon sauce. Do I have a wonderful husband or what?

Ever visit Polyvore.com? I really like the creative ways the sets are created.

I like these woodsy flowers.

Jesse Goes SKYDIVING! and Jess’s New Apartment

Fun afternoon with family out in Barnesville, Ga. Jesse went SKYDIVING!

I was really cold and windy.

It was so fast falling that Jesse’s contacts blew out!

He said he was most afraid when he was right at the edge about to jump out of the plane. But as my Daddy said, ” He acted like he’d done it 100 times.”

Ate at The Great Wall.I like my food healthy.

Shawn, Jessica and I loaded the first truck full to their new three bedroom apartment. Please be praying for their family in the next chapter of their life.

Natural Wellness Store with Anna and Jess’s New Apartment

Anna and I went to check out the Natural Wellness store today. It had interesting Vitamins and books titled, “The Maker’s Diet.” A diet designed by God.

Then we went for a fresh fruit lunch across the street.

Visited with Ash at Ace. I laughed at this baby’s butt.

Jess signed the lease on her new three bedroom apartment.

I like Mo’s new Dog Yoga calendar.

AZ the Invitations

Creative writing at 10 a.m. I passed out copies of my favorite selection from Kurt Vonnegut’s Breakfast for Champions.

The class enjoyed it. The teacher told us to put SATIRE in our writer’s tool belts, but I left my belt at home.

Geogloy at one.The teacher goes off on other cavets about CaCo3 and other Carbon based organisms. Learning about Fossils is cool though.

Miles juiced fresh oranges today. Mmm frothy goodness from the Breville juicer…

Ayline, Fabilo and I enjoyed creating foto framed pictured and WE enjoyed learning about pronouns.

Sweet Fabiola.

LOVE my brother.

Azalea and Lynsie’s Adventure Binder!

Tuesdays and Thursdays will be my early days if you think being in class by 10 a.m. is early. I look forward to the creative writing class. It seems to be more of a workshop where we all read our work and have our peers evaluate it.

Geology is always fascinating to me. Historical Geology, the class I’m enrolled in, is about the history of the Earth.

Azalea was fun! We laughed LOUD and a lot today! Mo said she could hear us down the street.

Here’s what my notebook looks like after a day at the mission.

The kids had fun taking pictures and trying out the different filters on my iPhone.

Jesse, Miles and I tried to help Mohosana and her Mom with their computer and printer. The computer had a virus so it didn’t work. Bad luck!

Miles and his favorite animals, bears!

Went to Lynsie’s to give her her adventure binder.

We’re going to go to a glass painting workshop.

I liked her house lights.

Here’s another choice for the bridesmaid dresses. (In coral though…)

Business Communications

First day back to school. Interesting class about how to communicate in the business place. I’m looking forward to learning more about fundraising.

Always nice to live so close that home is only 3 minuets away from class.

Had fun with the kids today. Jocelyn said she was going to do her United States project. I asked what state she wanted to do and she said, ” MEXICO!”

Jossie and I worked on multiplication.

While Jeffry wrote to 100.

This is another dress we’re thinking about for the bridesmaids.

Geology and Creative Writing tomorrow.

The High Muesum and Climbing Stone Mountain

Miles and I woke up early and enjoyed coffee in Stone Mountain Village. In the background we could hear people playing bagpipes at the church.

I liked this mailbox.

Goats with beards always make me crack a smile.

We REALLY enjoyed eating Madina with the family. It’s been a while since the five of us have been together.

They have the best Chai.

Then Dad, J, Milo and I visited the High Muesum of Modern Art.

Sweet Dad and Jesse.

Climbed beautiful Stone Mountain.

the craters look like the surface of the moon.

I’ve really enjoyed the Instagram app for iPhone.

Ate some Muzaz Boregi at Cafe Istanbul. Yumbo!

About to watch The Machinist with Milo.

Looking forward to Dad preaching tomorrow at Rockbridge.

Anna loved her adventure binder. I can’t wait to see what we do first. Plant a tree, go to a concert, get full body seaweed wraps?

Spent the night with Jessica.

We had fun coloring this huge castle for Tyler.

I woke up early to go get my new license.

Then Jessica and I went house hunting.

She’s super mom.

Miles and I climbed Stone Mountain and then went shopping for groceries.

Milo made a delicious veggie pie.

Climbing Stone Mountain

Miles went in for his last test at Zoo Atlanta. He’ll be starting Monday the 16! This is one of the pandas he’ll be feeding.

Our pipes froze last night! I defrosted them with a hair dyer and turned up the heat, but it wasn’t until the sun came out that they started working again.

Ted, the owner, came over and fixed our leaky faucet.

Miles and I climbed Stone Mountain. It was beautiful crisp weather.

Milo cooked some delicious chicken tonight. That’s my man!

I paid bills and created the new Whirlwind Missions Financial report on Excel.

We got a new bedspread. I feel so domestic buying home goods with my husband.

These are the bridesmaid dresses we’re thinking about getting for the June wedding.

New Boots and Oysters with Jon and Lynsie

Miles had to wake up at 5 am this morning to be at work at 6. Whoosh. I got to sleep in and then went for a run around the neighborhood. I’m trying out new routes and getting used to the new area.

Then we rode over to his parents’ house to do some laundry and go buy new work boots for Miles.

After 2 loads of laundry later we met up with Lynsie and Jon for oysters.

New Baptist Covenant and Birthday at El Torero’s!

Dad and I did a briefing and taught people how to make balloon animals and round up kids for the block party at Briarcliff Baptist Church today.

We had a great time at the Farmer’s market.

But doing the actual missions was the best part!

I had fun face painting.

Rachel and I had fun shopping.

Later that night I had fun celebrating my birthday at El Torero’s. There’s nothing like Mexican food and friends.

Jessica dyed my hair. It looks really good. She’s the color expert.

Reading Poe in American Lit. It inspired me to write my Travel piece with an erie tone.

Worked with Jefery on the number 7 today. It’s sweet to watch his Mom help guide his hand.

Beautiful sunset today.

Just finished working on homework. Ready to veg out.

Fox 5 Studio Tour with Karen Graham

I had such a fun day touring the Fox 5 Atlanta studio with my journalism class.

We got a personal tour from Karen Graham, the anchor of Good Day Atlanta.

She showed us the producers’ work spaces, her reporter’s desk, and the control room.

My favorite part was being in front of the camera sitting in the actual news desk!

I even read lines from the prompter. Ms. Graham said I was a natural.

Then the whole class went to eat Moe’s together. I really enjoyed our field trip together.

Miles was off work today and came to the mission. Of course the girls were very happy to see him. They love to play with his silky soft hair.

Home now to finish up our Hajj speech for Human Communications tomorrow.

Jesse hands out Gifts

Hello!

Still working on our Hajj group presentations in Human Communications.

We’re reading Emerson’s Nature in American Lit. so the teacher let up get back to nature with a 15 minute break outside. Loved it! The warm sun really is healing.

Tutored the fourth grade girls at Azalea. Ever since Miles came he’s all they ask about. “When’s Miles coming?” “Is Miles coming today?”

Jesse handed out a few gifts to the kids.

Just finished writing invitations to my birthday party next Saturday!

Just started watching New Girl on Hulu. Hilarious! Even Miles was cracking up.

Amy and Joe at Azalea

Worked on our group project in Human Communications. We’ve already gotten more than 10 slides done. I feel really good about all we’ve accomplished so far.

Talked about Harriet Jacobs in American Lit. and discussed our research papers. It’s that time of the semester when everything’s due.

Miles worked his first day at his new Kroger job. He decorated the Christmas isle. Then he joined us at Azalea. Jocelyn is one of his favorites. They play around like old friends.

Amy and Joe came too. The more help the better, it means more children get one on one time with a tutor.

The art teachers came today too! The little kids with no homework enjoyed painting and playing Red Rover outside.

Home now to work on my Stat homework.

The Great Halloween Candy Toss

Dad’s home safe from India. He brought me back some beautiful bangles from Nepal.

We started out global issue group projects today in Human Comm. My group is researching the Hajj: The journey to Mecca.

Read some Harriet Jacobs in American Lit. It’s been helpful reading out the slaves in my clases because the mission kids are learning about slavery as well.

Speaking of the mission kids we had the great candy toss today!

Even the moms were jumping for candy.

Home now to finish the Whirlwind Financial Report and some Features Writing Homework.

Miles Comes to Azalea

Hello!

Hard test in Human Communications today. Hope I did well.

Discussed more of Frederick Douglass in American Lit.

Miles, J and I had a great time with the kids today.

Miles worked with the fourth grade girls. They were cracking each other up. Miles said he had a really great time.

Jesse explained a lot of the science homework to the boys.

Amy came! She’s always such a big help.

We even had some art teachers today. Yay! A lot of the girls that didn’t have homework really enjoyed being creative. They were working on a really cool project tracing their own pictures. Neat idea.

Fabiola gave me some bread her Dad had made at the kitchen table. She called it dead bread. In remembrance of all the souls for day of the dead. It was sweet with raisons.

Keep praying for my Dad in India. The team was at a temple the other day and Dad said he got kissed by an elephant. Can’t wait to hear more of that story!
